about

The first plans to write compositions that acknowledges the architecture in which they will be performed was born during a walk in June 2021. I wandered into an abandoned sugar factory in Pruszcz Gdański,
having with me a clarinet and a zoom recorder. After semi-legal entering into one of the buildings, I set up the recorder and began recording an hour-long improvisation
on circular breathing. The space had wonderful acoustics with soft resonance. It turned out that the recording captured much of the nearby city, train station, insects and birds. As is usually the case with ideas, it takes time to come into realisation.

My interest in architectural acoustics for the time being already follows the more closely related topic of the phenomenon of the propagation of sine waves and their juxtaposition with acoustic instruments. It is possible that I will soon start working on another album following the idea of "Architecture Resonances".
Compositions 1,3,6 and 9 was recorded in Center of St. John Church, rest of it (2,4,5,7 and 8) was realised in CUMY Gdańsk Shipyards.

"These seemingly unrelated places can be related in the context of human activities.
On one hand, we are dealing with a place of spiritual contemplation,
on the other hand - with a place of work - one which is so important to Gdansk culture.
My compositions relate to human wandering and experience both in the spiritual and very secular."

Worthwhile works is 'ONE', 'TWO' and 'THREE'.
The 10-minute collective improvisation, which Oskar conducted, was divided into three segments that separate the album like chapters.
ONE and THREE were processed to produce spectral drone textures that, like a glaze, meld all the sounds into a harmonious structure.
The TWO was left its natural form.

In this album mostly wind instruments is playing. Its blowing instruments or more pointing on 'breathing'. During these recording sessions, we all breathed with these places. I am putting into your hands an album in which you will be able to immerse yourself in contemplative spaces. Step away for a moment to see yourself from a safe perspective. We need to stop and simply be here and now.
